Samana and Saundatti wind projects are the landmark wind projects of CLP India’s Wind portfolio and delivers notable sustainable benefits to local as well global environment.
The project activity includes two sub-projects i.e. installation of 12 Wind Turbine Generators at Samana site in Gujarat and 55 WTGs at Saundatti site in Karnataka. The project activity has installed total 67 number of Enercon make E-53 WTGs to generate electrical power for export to the respective distribution licensees. Total capacity of the project activity is 53.6 MW. The project is designed to generate 116.5 million units every year, which is equivalent to powering more than 23,000 Indian households.
The project activity has designed to avoid more than 105,000 tones CO2e per year and saves more than 408 million liters of water per year compared to a typical coal power plant, which is currently dominating Indian electricity sector.
In addition to that CLP Wind Farms has undertaken numerous community development project focused on improving health and education, and creating sustainable community around the project.
