Khandke wind project is one of longstanding project of CLP which caters several sustainable initiatives to local communities along with clean electricity generation. This project uses wind turbines to generate electricity from wind energy without creating any air or water pollution.
It generates more than 35,000 MWh of electricity per year which is sufficient to power more than 7,000 Indian households and avoids 33,319 tCO2 every year. The Project also avoids use of more than 122 million liters of water per year compared to baseline practice. Rural roads were constructed or strengthen as part of Project development activity which enables villagers use these roads. Thus the Project has also improved local infrastructure and connectivity to nearest city.
In addition to that CLP Wind Farms has undertaken numerous community development programmes focused on improving health and education, and creating sustainable community around the Project.
